This autoimmune attack also leads to chronic gastritis, which can then progress to cancer.

Some: Pernicious anemia is due to malabsorption of vitamin b-12 from the GI tract.  It is a form of low blood cell count with associated symptoms of fatigue, paleness, breathing difficulties, etc.  While not very common, all such patients should be evaluated by their doctor to give treatment for the pernicious anemia if that is the only problem and to discover any other problem.

Anything that produces B12 def can cause these symptoms. Classically, pa is one such diagnosis that is due to destruction of parietal cells by the immune system (ie., an autoimmune disorder). I suspect elevated igg is true, true and unrelated. See your dr.

No: I wish every question were this easy to answer.  Methadone treatment is a great blessing for many people.  Classic pernicious anemia is an autoimmune disease involving the stomach interfering with B12 absorption.  It is possible for a person taking Methadone to develop it, but it would be a coincidence.
