Not.: Both may be made from corn (MD is also made from wheat), but HFCS is first and foremost a sweetener whereas MD is often used for its texture or thickening rather than sweetening properties. HFCS is a physical mixture of fructose and glucose whereas MD is a polysaccharide of glucose - usually 3-17 units long.  Both HFCS and MD contain a large number of calories.

Supplements: The FDA does not investigate or evaluate most supplements and I doubt most physicians would have any experience with what you're taking. The good diet and proper exercise programs appear fine. You sound quite healthy and shouldn't need any supplements. Protein overload can harm kidneys.

Accepted Answer

: No. Despite the TV adds that tout "deep penetration" of various products, nothing you apply to the normal skin surface goes deep enough to enter your circulation. There are special chemicals that are in medication patches that transport meds through the skin, but these are not added to common skin or hair products.

i'm incredibly sensitive to any artificial sweetener (maltodextrin, erythritol, etc). which kinds are the least laxative causing? which are the worst?

Non absorbable sugar: A sugar-like sweetener that is not absorbed can be an "osmotic laxative" because it pulls water with it into the bowels. For any noticeable effect, it needs to be consumed in large quantities (many teaspoons/day). This can happen with Xylitol. Aspartame, saccharin, Stevia, and sucralose do not have this effect.

By all means: I'm glad you're working out and i wish you the best. Cardio will also help maintain your health. Hopefully your hypertension is being treated properly. Perhaps a curble cause of your hypertension may be discovered -- renal artery stenosis from a minor birth defect is often missed in young, otherwise-fit hypertensives.

Ask OBGYN: Hard to ever answer a question like this because most supplements are not regulated in terms of ingredients, fillers, added boosters, and difference of distributors.  I would consult your OBGYN and hopefully be steered in the right, recommended direction.  Also, women can react to supplements and meds differently during pregnancy.

Keep it natural.: Weight training and cardiovascular exercise are parts of a long term strategy for a healthy lifestyle.  That being said, the bodybuilding world is generally filled with use of performance enhancing drugs which should be avoided.  Those are not healthy.

Protein!: Protein, coupled with lots of water, fruits/vegetables are key to your physique.  Eat several meals a day as well, not just bfast, lunch and dinner and don't skip meals.  Also, eat something or do a power bar/drink right before exercise.

Accepted Answer

No: Physical activity will not close the growth plates ahead of schedule, but, lifting crazy heavy weights could cause bone injury at/near the growth plates and alter your final height potential--so do not overdo it.
