Sinus Infection: A large series was just published which showed that treating sinus infections with antibiotics does not work. You can safely use Nitrofurantoin in pregnancy, if you are not allergic to it, but it will not help. Best is steam inhalation, using peppermint, oregano and lemon. Stop worrying!: Stop worrying and make a change. First of all the two conditions, sinusitis and anosmia may not be linked. Take hot showers, have a humidifier in your bedroom, flush the sinuses with saline (salt and water - weak) and sleep with the infected side uppermost with head on the side on pillows. That should make a difference. Change the antibiotic.  SEE DOCTOR

Twice a day is a good place to start but it is only saline and it can be used a lot more often.  Sleep is really what cures colds,  so rest up.
