A member asked:

Can nitrofurantoin be used when pregnant for a sinus infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sinus Infection: A large series was just published which showed that treating sinus infections with antibiotics does not work. You can safely use Nitrofurantoin in pregnancy, if you are not allergic to it, but it will not help. Best is steam inhalation, using peppermint, oregano and lemon. Check out the natural cold season remedies on my website, under handouts, at coastalclinic.Com.
