May be tuberculosis: Matted lymph nodes usually applies to chronic lymph node involvement from tuberculosis. Can certainly happen from lymphoma, secondary cancers, other chronic inflammatory diseases involving lymph nodes.

No cancer: Thyroid peroxydase is a sign of hashimotos thyroiditis, that has nothing to do with cancer.  Lymphoma of the thyroid extremely rare.  I would not worry.

: You are only 18, and I'll bet you dont have cancer, however, worrying about it is not helping you and I strongly suggest that you go and see your doctor and ask him what's going on.  You will feel so much better.

Possibly: Lymph nodes may enlarge as a result of a number of problems, not just cancer.  You should see your physician soon for further evaluation and proper diagnosis.  It may just be a manifestation of an infection that requires antibiotics to clear up.  But see your doctor.

Lymph nodes...: Lymph nodes are a normal component of the immune system. The react to local infection, inflammation and even cancer by enlarging.  The most common cause for lymph node enlargement in the neck region is infection.  A worrisome lymph node is one stay stays enlarged. A physical exam by your doctor can help determine why your lymph node is enlarged.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

Can be healthy: Some folks just have big lymph nodes. Cancer in kids very seldom announces itself this way. If Junior appears otherwise healthy and the routine labs are normal, be thankful and leave it alone. If Junior seems clearly more prone to infections than other kids, then this may be one of the mild genetic immunodeficiencies in which lymph nodes grow over to compensate.

It could: Cancer can spread through the bloodstream to most any part of the body bypassing the lymphatic system, so the answer is yes, in theory it is possible.  That said, colon cancer loves the liver and it would be uncommon to go to the neck (i'm assuming you mean neck nodes) only.

what is the correlation of hives and cancer?  2 months ago i notice that the lymph nodes on my neck were inflamed.  about 2 weeks ago i noticed hives.

Doesn't mean cancer: Enlarged lymph glands in the neck are common, also hives for whatever reason, are common too, having them at the same time doesn't denote cancer, but just co-existence of two very common conditions. Kindly see your doctor for evaluation and management , wish you wellness
