Lyme Disease: Only blacklegged ticks in the highly endemic areas of the northeastern and north central U.S. Are commonly infected. Finally, blacklegged ticks need to be attached for at least 24 hours before they can transmit lyme disease. This is why it's so important to remove them promptly and to check your body daily for ticks if you live in an endemic area.

Accurate but: the test result must be interpreted along with clinical findings. Thus one cannot be considered as having Lyme Disease simply because of a positive test. I do know that some practitioners are over-diagnosing Lyme disease as the cause for many ailments including Parkinson's disease etc without any proven scientific evidence.

YES: It is important to consult your PCP since many new anti-inflammatory agents/pain medication, non- narcotic in nature, are now on the market and very effective for nerve pain: Lyrica, Neurontin, Savella, (milnacipran) SSRI and SNRI inhibitors are just examples.

Titer: There is a blood test called a lyme titer.  This will show different levels of reactivity to see if you body has been exposed in the past.

: It is not feasible to provide an opinion without additional history, physical examination may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor to see if you may be depressed. Depression is treatable. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Not likely: You may have  fibromyalgia. You need to discuss  this with your physician and possibly see  a rheumatologist. This is unlikely to be  Lyme  disease  but there are  other possibilities in the differential diagnosis that  need to be confirmed. Your evaluation will include examination, lab studies and maybe imaging.

Yes: Lyme disease is known to cause every possible symptom including hair loss. However, this could also be related to hypothyroidism (which Lyme can cause) and nutrient deficiencies (esp. zinc, very common in Lyme patients) may play a role too. You might also have heavy metal toxicity.
