No: Astigmatism is corrected with glasses, contacts or surgery like lasik or astigmatic keratotomy. Lutein doesn't fix astigmatism.

See below: Breast milk has a lot more.  Immunoglobulin a, pro- and prebiotics protects infant from developing infection.  Iron in breast milk is easily absorbed.  Breast-fed infants are less likely die from sids (sudden infant death syndrome) as well.

Yes: Lutein (which you can only get into your system through your diet) is a carotenoid, but unlike beta carotene, does not convert to vitamin a in the body.  Zeaxanthin and lutein are the only carotenoids known to concentrate specifically in the eye.  They are believed to help filter damaging light and prevent free radical damage to the delicate structures in the back of the eye.

See ophthalmologist: Although lutein and zeaxanthin are scientifically proved to be beneficial in some ocular diseases, not all vision problems are related to these vitamins (found naturally in green leafy vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, and corn). These supplements are not fully recommended during pregnancy/breastfeeding. An ophthalmologist will diagnose the specific problem and establish an adequate treatment.
