my gums bleed every time i brush, what causes bleeding gums and what can i do?

Infection: Bleeding on bruising indicates gum disease.  Please call your dentist for evaluation and ask if referral to a periodontist (gum specialist) is in order.  Periodontist will rule out systemic causes (such as diabetes), and return your gums/bone/supporting tissues to a state of optimum health.  You need professional care...Please schedule it.

what might be the cause for bleeding gums and bad breath for a 5 year old boy? (note: we do brush his teeth twice a day!)

Bleeding gums: Sign of gum infection.  Bravo for brushing his teeth twice daily.  Have to brush for 2 full minutes by the clock with a pea-sized portion of fluoridated toothpaste.  Must also floss him daily, can-t get between teeth with toothbrush.  Important that your son be seen immediately by General Dentist or preferably a Pediatric Dental Specialist.  Infection requires immediate treatment.

bleeding gums sign of leukemia? gums bleed on and off for a month now especially when brushing. had checkup doc says white blood cells looked different but no severe cause. should i be worried? get a second opinion?

The blood count may be analyzed further by a repeat test with microscopic investigation.

good morning dentists. could blood in saliva/phlegm be related to or from bleeding gums? is there any connection to dry mouth? other than brushing and waterpic, would you be able to offer suggestions as to cause of blood in saliva at night treatment?

Blood is a Warning: While there may be a number of causes for the blood I immediately suspect Gum disease. If you are not removing dental plaque from between your teeth with flossing, and brushing the exposed surfaces of the teeth and gums you are prone to getting inflamed gums.  They bleed easily.  Brush, Floss and rinse, and see your dentist immediately.

: Healthy gingiva should not bleed. You appear to have gingivitis. See a dentist for an evaluation.

had severe nosebleeds and bleeding gums when brushing when taking 81mg of aspirin.  am now taking aspirin every other day instead.  still beneficial?

Maybe: You will still get some benefit from taking the aspirin.  However, i would visit your cardiologist or primary care physician to determine if it is only the Aspirin that is causing the bleeding, or an underlying condition that could be more serious.

Think about this...: What did primitive humans eat?  What do we modern humans eat?  How long did primitive humans survive, compared to us now?  How happy would we all be without any sense of cleanliness or hygiene (such as having no concept of toilet paper)?  The dentist may do a deep cleaning and check for other causes of bleeding gums.  A primary care doctor can do a check-up to look for other problems.

Not Normal: Neither for you, or for her. Bleeding gingiva is usually a sign of inflammation. How clean are her teeth? Trapped bacteria needs to be thoroughly removed. Even though you may think she's young, it could be the time to have her see a pediatric dentist. As for yourself, be seen for a thorough cleaning and exam... gingival inflammation over time will result in loss of bony support and your teeth.

Soft brush: Use a soft brush, brush lightly including the gums even if they bleed, and use floss.  Over time, they will stop bleeding. Make sure to follow up with your dentist.

See a periodontist: If you have bleeding gums it is a sign of a problem. It could be an infection in the gums or the sign of a systemic problem
start with the periodontist first.
