Borderline to nope: It would be seen on the ct component of the scan but may not uptake enough FDG to make it light up. Many centers use 8 mm as cutoff but i guess it will vary a bit from place to place. I would not call such nodule negative if it did not light up on pet.

Maybe: Lupus is a complex autoimmune disease in which the body is attacking its own tissue.  Lupus is famous for affecting different people in different ways.  The effects can be so different from person to person that it does not even look like they have the same diagnosis. ANA is only a screening test that tells us more tests are needed. See a rheumatologist!

Lung nodules are generally followed on ct scan for 2 years to be sure they do not grow in size.  Those that grow can be biopsied by ct guidance, bronchoscopy, or surgery. Check for other causes (exposure to tb,  rheumotologic).
