Hip and leg pain has: Many different causes.  The scans you got of the brain and lumbar spine might have been bad quality.  I would have them reviewed.  You also need to have a doctor evaluate if they think the pain is coming from a problem in the hip or legs themselves or perhaps could be from a peripheral neuropathy.  You need more careful evaluation.

B sure U have  been: Evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon 2 B sure there is not something mechanical in the knee such as a displaced meniscus , or a loose body. There is usually a history of recent or distant injury 2 the knee 4 it 2 become "locked". I am assuming that U mean extend the knee.

CT Scan: I would suggest a CT scan of the lumbar back.  Your symptoms are still suggestive of an L4 radiculopathy.
MRI is better at seeing muscles not nerves. Ask the radiologist to suggest the best imaging test. Some CT scans use dye some do not. Your regular doctor can order the CT based on the radiologists input.
An Orthopedic spine specialist could offer better diagnostic/imaging  next steps as well.
