why is my right lower eyelid swelling?

Eyelid swells: Swelling under eyelid can be due to the following [most common to least]: swelling from allergy; age issue (blepharoptosis, dermatochalasis), genetic variations; blocked meibomian gland (sty, chalazion); too much salt in diet; heart or kidney problem;  mass or tumor). Lower lid swelling: Do you have allergies? Nasal congestion? Post nasal drip? When one sleeps , the head is at times extended and drainage from the nose can go retrograde into  the soft tissue around the eye.Consider an antihistamines  before bed and raising head of bed when sleeping. Please f/u with doctor as persistent swelling can get infected.

Sty?: If lid only and the eyeball is not involved, the most common cause of your symptoms is a sty. Hot compresses for ten minutes then squeezing might relieve it. If the eye is involved, discharge is coming form eye, or heat and squeezing fails, you need to see an eye MD

Likely a stye: By far the most common lesion in your age group is an early stye.  You can treat this with generous application of very warm wash cloths (not hot).  Herpes would be in one place, with blistering on the skin.

sudden onset pain in left lower eyelid. no visible redness or swelling. hurts to blink and look down. feels like a bruise, no discoloration?

The Eyes Have It: A common side for those who drive with the window down. Maybe a small foreign body (if it won't wash out, see a doctor), or the start of a stye ('hordeolum'), which is a small infection of the eyelid that can eventually get pretty big. Get in the shower and rinse the eye good. If that helps, wait and see if an infection develops (red, swollen), if not, read the first sentence again.

i have a swelling of my lower eyelid with a black dot on the lower lid margin. no discharge or redness. is it a chalazion or stye? and how to treat?

Could be a stye,: With a pigment area of the skin not related to the swelling. Use moist heat compresses at least 4 times a day for 10 minutes at a time. Do this until it gets better. A great idea to have this examined by an ophthalmologist.

my 20 month old son has had a stye for over two weeks. warm compresses and using the eye drops the pediatrician prescribed have lessened the swelling and redness but a large white and red pimple looking lump remains on his lower eyelid, and has been there

Back to the doctor: It may be time to see a dermatologist.  This needs to be examined again at least by your pediatrician who saw it initially.

Allergy: The fact that Benadryl (diphenhydramine) helps means it is an allergic reaction. However, strange that it is only one eye. What could be causing it? Any pets, new creams, soap?

woke up yesterday with eyelid swelling. its a bit painful and red. no redness or junk in my eye when i woke up yesterday or today. not sure if its a spider bite or a stye?

: Probably a stye if you can see the bump right at the border of the eyelid when the eyelash is.
