Probably not: Anything at all.  This is just a trivially low wbc.  Most labs limits of normal go to 4.  This is very common in african americans and those of far northern european ancestry.  With 48% neuts your ANC is almost 2000 which is just fine.

How low: Would need to see the whole report.If platelets also low would be pancytopenia.It would depend on how long the percentages are.Could be something such as iron defiency,renal problems,bone marrow issues.Too little information to express more of an opinion except may need more studies if significantly low.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. TheTruthOnAbsolute : Percentages are relative numbers. You could have one billion neutrophils (elevated) but only 10% of total White Cells (low, %, based on normal ranges), but 10% of one billion is sky high. We are always looking at relative numbers and absolute numbers. Relative numbers like % can be manipulated in various ways, good and bad, but absolute numbers are the nitty-gritty.

: I would ask team doing the injection neutrophiles can tend to aggregate along vessel walls and in the spleen.  A shot of epinephrine, if if gets directly into you blood stream, can make spleen contract and may disturb peripheral count for a bit. Was the injection being given to drain an infection. Infection can increase neurophil %.  Discuss with local team what is "normal" in folks like you there

Probably not: But depends on the actual neutrophil count.  So multiply the percentage of neutrophils x the total wbc.  Example:  WBC 5.0 (5000) and neutrophils are 80%, then the goal neutrophil count is 4000.  Now unless your neutrophils are less than 800 or you have recurrent infections, I do not get overly concerned.  Approximately 6% of the population has a low white count.  Hope this helps.
