If it's pregnancies, your monthly loss, or an ill-advised vegetarian lifestyle, correct it. If not, ask your physician how to identify possible blood loss.

: Why was the ferritin checked and was that done by a medical personnel is what I wonder, because nobody in the medical profession would use ferritin by itself in evaluation of anybody for anemia. You should discuss with the person that ordered the tests for you because if your hemoglobin is normal there should not be any reason for concern. What is in the blood may not be all that is in the body.

: To have benefit from iron supplementation (FeSO4 ferrous sulfate) serum ferritin levels should be over 100.  With "heavy periods" continually depleting red cells, iron supplementation is certainly justified.  Ask your physician about monitoring serum ferritin levels, so that excess iron does not accumulate and cause other problems.

Not necessarily: Serum iron levels are not a good test to make treatment decisions as it is very variable and do not reflect inappropriate iron deposition.  Ferritin level is the standard.  If there is a concern for hemachromatosis genetic test is available.  If indicated, liver biopsy with iron studies can be considered.

Very serious: Vegetarianism is moral high ground but if you do not supplement scientifically, you will ruin your health. You are a young woman and need iron. Low iron: Is your diet poor in iron rich foods?  How heavy are your periods?  Your iron level is your cause of hair loss, but you need to determine why you are iron deficient - from lack of intake or loss of blood (either menses or bleeding internally somewhere in your GI tract).
