How low is low: Read the label and know the total carbs in it. Low carb does not mean zero carb.

Energy Drinks: First there is no medical or health benefit from 'energy drinks'. These drinks are usually high in caffeine and/or sugars.  I would read the labels and if there are any carbs in the drink recommend that you not ingest it.

But, in general i would recommend avoiding these unnecessary and non-nutritional drinks all together.

why on nightshift do i become extremely dizzy faint shakey feel sick even tho i eat healthy including carbs for energy drink lots water i can't cope?

Jet Lag: You're probably suffering from severe chronobiological desynchronization--better known as jet lag.  You're sleep-wake cycles are completely screwed up.  The best treatment is to take melatonin before your new "bedtime."  you may require 10-20 mg.  As you become used to your new hours, you may be able to progressively reduce the dose.  Let me know how you do.

Holiday: Take a 24 hour holiday from your low carbs - not to say you should binge. Just ease up on the low carb aspect for a day. This helps prevent cravings and will help your energy level.

if i start a low carb diet after being off for 3 to 4 weeks, will my body have to go through that same "low energy" for those first two weeks again?

Accepted Answer

No: There is really no good reason to have low energy on a 'low carb' diet if your getting enough calories. I f you are on a protein sparing modified fast diet like optifast or medifast (very low calorie diets)you may experience some fatigue. Be sure you get enough good quality protein, adequate rest and some reasonable exercise. Low refined/white carb/sugar diets are healthy.

All the same: Your body uses mostly carbohydrate for energy, and then some fat is broken down to replenish lost calories if you're losing weight. Muscle is only broken down in starvation, cancer, severe disease or long-term illness.

Women should consume: at least 1,200 cals/day, and men 1,800 cals/day, even when trying to lose weight, to avoid a metabolism slowdown. A very-low-calorie diet can cause serious health issues because it does not provide all of the essential nutrients for good health. Balance your diet: Your diet is out of balance which is probably why you are not feeling your,best.  While protein is known to be the energy food, if not eaten in balance,with carbs your weight loss and health will suffer.  It will also make your eating plan more difficult to stay with.  Try adding some whole grains and fruit into your diet in moderation and see if things  get better.  Don't drink too much caffeine.

i take warfrain for my artifical mitro vaulve, can i drink highprotien low carb shakes?

: Best would be to check with your warfarin clinic or doc who is checking your INR and adjusting Coumadin. Many shakes are enriched with vitamins and vitamin K specifically will counter the effect of warfarin on coagulation.

May be: You might lose weight faster, but there is also a possibility you may  gain it back when you come off of your diet.
Find a balanced diet program you can stick to rest of your life for losing and maintaining the loss
