mil is on chemo iv & po. will allowing her to hold newborn pose risk? not sure she washes hands after handling tabs & touching things she touches daily like purse, keys. also has sores on body and hands. worried about hazardous sweat, sore drainage?

Wouldn't think so: This is a question best answered by her treatment team. The actual chemo she takes would not pose a risk to the baby. Whether or not any other material involved is a risk is determined by her docs. I find it more damaging to both if she is not permitted to bond with her child &amp; start the important role of mothering.

touched eye after handling raw chicken. tear duct is sore almost a week later. no redness. could this resolve on its own? anything to watch for?

Yes: The difficult problem is knowing what you mean by sore tear duct. The inner corner of your eyelid has a drainage hole (punctum) that allows tears to drain into your nose via nasolacrimal duct. If you had an infection from the chicken, I'd expect much more yellowish discharge from eyeball. However if you're very tender in the corner with eyelid redness/swelling, get it checked by Eye MD. ?antibiotc

why does my 10 year old's right lumbus/love handle/oblique hurt every time she takes long walks?

Oblique pain: Hard to determine without an exam. Does it also hurt when she twists her torso or leans from side to side? If so, it may just be a musculoskeletal injury (ie a muscle strain, rib fracture). If it has lasted for more than a month and/or you can feel a bump or mass, fevers/chills, nausea, change in urine or stool, you should have her seen by a physician.

Wish we could GPS it: It would be nice if we could GPS pain to its exact location but unfortunately we can't. Typically "kidney" pain is located in the mid or lower back but many times the pain you feel may be originating from a location nearby - this is called "referred pain". Any persistent pain you are having needs to be evaluated by a physician in an office setting or in the ER if it is severe.

i recently found two smallish lumps on my left side ribs/"love handle" area. they are raised, and can be seen if i stretch. no pain unless pressed. ?

Epidermal Inclusion: cyst is probably what you have. Lipoma is another possibility. Does not sound serious. See your doctor.

Working out: equally on both sides with weights and cardio along with a balanced diet should correct this problem

Nerve pain, shingles: This sounds like pain coming from a nerve.  At your age "around a love handle"  sounds an awful like shingles.  I would not be surprised if you broke out in a rash.  However, there are cases where patients have pain but no rash.

hi, i have a pain under the left back side of my love handle,it is painful to touch. i got my superficial ultrasound done about 10 months ago and the dr said it is a lipoma, it was 9*21mm at that time but now it is hurting more. please advice?

: Lipoma is usually not causing pain but at times, it may do that because of the location. You should see your doctor and have it removed with local anesthetic. Good luck.

Nonspecific : No specific diagnosis can be given for the symptom of pain. Depends on how long, how severe, what makes it better or worse, what started it, does the pain radiate, and the character of the pain to name a few. This along with a good exam may help. Your primary care provider should be able to help sort this out. Hope this helps!

Lose weight: There is no way to &quot;spot lose&quot; weight. The only way to get rid of abdominal fat is to lose weight overall. The only thing that works is a long-term change to the diet and long-term dedication to increased activity. Short-term diets are useless. Now is a good time to change your habits! Good luck.
