Wish we could GPS it: It would be nice if we could GPS pain to its exact location but unfortunately we can't. Typically "kidney" pain is located in the mid or lower back but many times the pain you feel may be originating from a location nearby - this is called "referred pain". Any persistent pain you are having needs to be evaluated by a physician in an office setting or in the ER if it is severe.
