blood clot for lower wisdom tooth has fallen out within 48hrs. small amount of blood remains at bottom of socket. is this normal will i get dry socket?

Probably not: Probably not. If pain increases, likely a dry socket. In that case see doc who did extraction. Easy problem to treat.

Would expect: your tooth pulling to have some light bleeding over the next 1-2 days, unless you stop eating or drinking.  If you continue to seep blood, like oozing, beyond 2 days, then you may need to check for von Willebrand disease, which is a clotting factor deficiency/ genetic defect.

Gum disease: You either have an infection in your gums or a tooth. You must see a dentist asap as any infection can cause problems in other areas of your body plus it can also lead to tooth loss.
Most likely you have calculus on your root surfaces which causes the gums to swell, bleed and become unattached to the teeth and bone. Then when you eat you can get things such as popcorn shells into the gums.

i had my wisdom teeth extracted 12 days ago. i think my blood clot came out on the bottom left. is that bad? will i get a dry socket?

No: dry sockets develop in the third or fourth day

Tooth Extractions: Your symptoms are unrelated to your extractions. Please be seen for a post op follow up, the sooner the better.

Varies: I would give it at least 4 - 5 days. Very easy to dislodge up to this time. I would also be careful, even at this time, until you get good tissue growth around the socket.

Probably not: After 5 days, the internal healing process is underway. As long as you are not swollen, and have no pain or foul odor, you should be fine.

Shortly after: Usually a dentist will recommend keeping pressure on the extraction site for 30 minutes after an extraction.  You should be able to see a blood clot forming within that time.
