All hydrocodone: They are essentially all the same medication.  They are combinations of hydrocodone, which is a narcotic pain medication, and tylenol (acetaminophen).  Lortab, Norco, and Vicodin are name brands, but more than likely you are getting a generic medication filled at the pharmacy.

Feeling "High": Even if you have pain you still feel high: detachment from reality, no worries, no reality, no correct information from own senses, sensation of feeling good and everything is perfect. It is a big self induced lie by medication, and it means that at the later date and with the repetitive use you need a bigger dose to have the same effect (addiction) and you are hooked. You want to kill to have it.

i was given vicodin 5/500 but switched to norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 5/325. i was wondering if they are the same thing? i'm worried it'll affect me badly or differently.

Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is safer: For once the FDA did something right.  Tylenol (acetaminophen) (acetamenophen) is highly toxic.  Even a small amount reduces glutathione production, and is toxic to your liver.  More than 2,000 mg per day is very hepatotoxic.  The FDA required mfrs to reduce the amount of tylenol (acetaminophen) in opiate drugs from 500 mg to 325 mg.

Tylenol (acetaminophen) should be avoided in any amount!

No: Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and vicodin are the same and are detected by the test for &quot;opiods&quot; which actually assesses for the presence of hydromorphone.  Oxycontiin &amp;#40;percocet/Roxy&amp;#41; do not break down to this and a person using these will test negative for opiods.  One has to do a test for oxy which usually is looking for the Oxymorphone metabolite.  Sounds similar but chemically distinct

All hydrocodone: Vicodin and lortab are name brands for hydrocodone/apap.  The 5mg and 7.5mg numbers refer to the amount of hydrocodone in the medication.  Since they are the same the strengths are the same.  You should not use these unless you have an active rx for them.  Discuss with your pcp.

Yes: Lortab strength that you mentioned has 7.5 mg of hydrocodone compared to 5 mg in the other. More narcotic can make you sleepier.

Unlikely!: Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and vicodin are different trade names for a combination of hydrocodone (a narcotic pain reliever) and Acetaminophen (tylenol). It is very unlikely that you would be allergic to one and not the other, as both Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and vicodin contain the same active ingredients. However, if this is a question, consult an allergist who can test you for sensitivities to different triggers.
