Cysts are not carcin: A cyst is different than a nodule. The size of 6 mm is too small to call it a carcinoid. Carcinoids will produce nodules on the liver which are solid as opposed to cysts which are fluid filled structures.

Liver nodules: Multiple small nodules in the liver can be due to a multiplicity of causes, ranging from benign cysts, vascular lesions, infectious foci, or tumors. The fact that they were negative on pet scanning is reassuring, but i would definitely follow up with a hepatologist to find the definitive cause.

Possibly: Possibly.  Malignant melanoma is one of the few malignancies that can metastasize to virtually every organin the body.  It is also one of the few malignancies that has a long dormant period and can recurr up to 20 years after resection when cure has already been anticipated.  Bx is essential.

Depends: Finding a liver lesion on ct depends on the attenuation difference between the lesion and normal liver.On noncontrast ct many liver lesions usually are not visible, since the contrast between lesion and the surrounding liver parenchyma is too low.Round lesion measuring water density on noncontrast ct is most likely a simple cyst.However, dedicated liver ct or MRI is the way to go when there is a ?

Hypoeheic lesion: Hypoeheic ; hypo vascular lesion on us but with normal ct, lfts; no liver disease, shows technical us artifact. However hypo echoic  lesions can be abscess, angioma, adenoma or mets from other organ, considered. Please see a gastroenterologist for good history and thorough physical examination and further work to address your concern. Thanks.

Needs biopsy: It may be sarcoidosis, or carcinoma with metastasis in liver and lymph nodes and in my opinion you may need biopsy to make the diagnosis.Ask your pulmonologist or internist what is his/her opinion as they have access to the films and your history.

Well..: Tissues is the issue.  Need a biopsy.
Getting a PET scan will help tell if it is malignant versus infectious

Could be many things: Usually these turn out to be benign hemangiomas, but you need at least one other test, such as ct or mri. Occaisionally, larger hyperechoic masses can be evaluated with a nuclear medicine tagged red blood cell scan.

Liver mass: No. Lung and liver nodules are common findings on ct scan. Depending on clinical setting no treatment may be indicated other than a follow up ct. In some cases where suspicion is high, a biopsy is needed to rule out or rule in cancer.
