Depends: Finding a liver lesion on ct depends on the attenuation difference between the lesion and normal liver.On noncontrast ct many liver lesions usually are not visible, since the contrast between lesion and the surrounding liver parenchyma is too low.Round lesion measuring water density on noncontrast ct is most likely a simple cyst.However, dedicated liver ct or MRI is the way to go when there is a ?

Benign liver lesion: There are numerous causes for a "nodule".  The most common causes are benign cysts or hemangiomas.  A nodule measuring 1 in should be worked up further either with MRI or biopsy to confirm the suspected benign nature of this nodule.

Needs biopsy: It may be sarcoidosis, or carcinoma with metastasis in liver and lymph nodes and in my opinion you may need biopsy to make the diagnosis.Ask your pulmonologist or internist what is his/her opinion as they have access to the films and your history.

Continue BCP: Benign tumors of the liver are very common and rarely cause any symptoms for problems.  Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) is the second most prevalent tumor of the liver. FNH is usually asymptomatic, rarely grows or bleeds, and does not have malignant potential (i.e. will not turn in to cancer.  There is no reason for you to be concerned nor stop taking birth control pills.

: With liver nodules, the first step is to differentiate between cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic changes. There are many types of benign tumors that will have to be considered and also hepatocellular carcinoma or liver cancer. However, if cancerous, there is a higher chance to be metastatic originating in another organ. Biopsy can clarify, many times not needed due to new imaging modalities.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a condition where there is extra fat buildup in the liver &amp; affects about 20% to 40% of the US population. A liver biopsy must be done to determine if a person has non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). I wish you well!

Yes: A ct scan of the abodmen provides images that show your entire contents as though you were sliced in two at a given point. While no test shows everything, it shows the bones, soft tissues, organs, intestines, etc., so any issues identifiable by the ct scan can be read by a qualified radiologist and reported to your doctor.

Whats your complaint: Ct can show a lot of abnormalities if they exist. Fatty liver is often associated with alcohol or metabolic syndrome (diabetes, hypertension, obesity and dyslipidemia), although can be also seen due to more rare causes.
