Yes: Imaging studies such as a CT scan,abdominal ultrasound or MRI can detect fatty liver disease. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a condition where there is extra fat buildup in the liver & affects about 20% to 40% of the US population. A liver biopsy must be done to determine if a person has non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFL) or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). I wish you well!
