i recently had an attack of choledocholithiasis and the symptoms lasted for a short period as the ercp was performed quickly. gallbladder also removed. now that it is fully resolved, is the liver likely to regenerate without permanent scarring?

: Usually a common bile duct stone does not cause any long-term liver damage, as long as it is removed promptly. As long as your symptoms resolved and your liver test returned to normal, your liver should be fine. Follow up with your surgeon as recommended. Good luck.

There are numerous signs and symptoms depending on the cause  and the effect it has on various organ -system.

Go to MD: Pain in the right upper quadrant can be from several things: liver, lungs, ribs, stomach kidney in the back, gallbladder, pancreas intestine or other referred pain. It is best to have it evaluated and the proper test done to find out what is wrong.

Other possibilities : It could be gall bladder, lungs, muscular, other?  See a doctor for a physical evaluation and perhaps labs or imaging studies as judged appropriate by your doctor.
