Should be ok: It is unlikely that lisinopril will cause significant issues with potassium in the absence of kidney disease. In fact many people with reduced kidney function are treated with lisinopril or medicines like it. Your doctor should be checking routine blood work to monitor electrolytes and renal function and can make adjustments to your dose and possibly diet if needed.

VG antihypertensive: Lisinopril will protect your kidneys by lowering your bp. Hope you r on low salt diet & perhads have tried hydrochlothiazide. Your gfr, as per my other answer is lower limit of normal & not of concern provides it doesn't go down. Lisinopril is only contraindicated if you develop an allergy to it or get side effects (see package insert) or high BP is 2ndary to renal artery stenosis.

yes: This is a recommended practice for diabetics to be on this class of medication.  It protects the eyes and the kidneys.

nephrologist pulled lisinopril from my regimen, but  a new internal med put me back on it. i have ckd stage 4, gfr 22. if it helps kidney why remove?

It depends: Lisinopril helps kidneys live longer. However, if it slows your kidneys significantly or brings your potassium up, you need to stop it. I presume that your internist did not know that your nephrologist stopped it. Since you have an advanced kidney disease, i would re discuss it with the nephrologist. Would not wait long!
