Benzapril and lisinopril both okay for kidneys?

Yes: They are both ace inhibitors, commonly used to treat high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, and used routinely to protect kidney function in diabetic patients. There is no reason to use them together, one or the other is fine. Baseline blood and urine tests should be obtained, especially looking for the potassium level since ace inhibitors can cause an elevation of potassium.

Depends: You should not take both together. These meds are ace-inhibitors. They are generally safe for kidneys and in fact, in certain conditions are considered protective. However, there are certain circumstances that they should not be used. Discuss with you doctor.
