VG antihypertensive: Lisinopril will protect your kidneys by lowering your bp. Hope you r on low salt diet & perhads have tried hydrochlothiazide. Your gfr, as per my other answer is lower limit of normal & not of concern provides it doesn't go down. Lisinopril is only contraindicated if you develop an allergy to it or get side effects (see package insert) or high BP is 2ndary to renal artery stenosis.

No: Lisinopril will protect kidney function over the long haul by decreasing the pressure in the filters of the kidneys and preventing pressure induced injury. The egfr is normal at your age and is not high. If it were high it would suggest hypertension in the kidney filters increasing the amount of creatinine cleared. Lisinopril like any drug can cause liver injury but this is a rare complication.
