i have a lipoma on my back.  is this something to be worried about and will i get more? is this related to lymphoma?

No: A lipoma per say isn't reason to be worried.
This is a benign ie non-malignant growth. You can get more, especially if the one you have is incompletely excised. This is not a lymphoma. Any concerns see a general surgeon to decide if a bx needs to be done.

i have what i am told are limpoma's. i have many throughout my body. i have a few that are very painful, and they spread fast. what is causing them?

Fatty tumors: Lipomas are fatty tumors of unknown cause, sometimes hereditary.  Some people get none, some get one and some get many. Those that are painful may need surgical removal.

Usually nothing: Lipomas are benign fatty growths, and they are very common.  They are usually completely meaningless.  Occasionally they are removed.  Reasons to remove a lipoma is if it is clearly growing or bothering the patient--it sits in a location where it rubs against clothing etc.  Lipomas that just sit there can be safely left along.

Relatively safe: Radiation is less frequently used for both hodgkins & non hodgkin's lymphomas , when indicated, is safe. Immediate side effects malaise, nausea , long term depending on location may affect  fertility, bone marrow , thyroid 2nd tumor , recurrence  etc.

May be: It is probably not causing any problems. This is a fat tumor. Talk to your doctor about this also.

Limpoma?: A lipoma is a fat tissue benign tumor.  A lymphoma is a malignant tumor involving lymph nodes.  I am not sure which one of the two was yor dr. Referring to.  The only way to know for sure which is which is by removing the whole lump or part of it and performing histopathology and immunology tests.   Those tests are indicated in lumps that are not obviously normal lymph nodes.

i think i have a limpoma on my neck? it's soft and i can move it easily it doesnt hurt at all and i haven't been sick so it couldn't be a lymph node ?

See your doctor: It certainly could be a lipoma, but also still could be a lymph node, depending on its location.  It is better to get it checked out by your doctor to make sure it is nothing worrisome.

Lipoma: These are small collections of fatty tissue.  The best thing to do is to see your doctor and be examined to see what it is.  It can be removed rather easily if needed or it bothers you.  It possibly could be other things depending where on your neck it is, so best to have it looked at.

Surgically : Lipoma is a benign fat-containing mass located under the skin (sometimes may be intra-musclular). It is surgically removed through a cut in the skin overlying the lipoma. Procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and some sedation (unless it is very big and deep or multiple).

i have a lump on my back the size of half a football do limpoma s grow that big? it starts just below my shoulder blade and curves to my side

SEE SOMEONE: Lipomas can get large and are very characteristically soft feeling. That one sounds quite large and can cause you some irritation. Go get it checked out and removed before it gets larger.
