Olive oil: At least that's what we used for assays when i was doing a lot of clinical chemistry.  Today kitmakers sell you "lipase substrate" which the physician need only do quality control on. I suspect it's olive oil.

why is my husbands lipase 450 and amylase 250 so high. they said he has cirrossis of the liver. those are pancreatic enzyme's.

I'm sorry: Elevated lipase and amylase can result from ongoing damage to the pancreas from alcohol -- perhaps refluxing up a damaged duct, or he may have a cystic fibrosis variant, a hereditary pancreatitis, or any of several other entities. Few diseases truly involve only one organ, and he may have more than one thing going on. This sounds serious and I am glad he has you to care for & love him.

are enzyme tablets effective for improving digestion? (e.g. amylase 120mg, protease 70mg, lipase 58mg, bromelain 100mg, etc) when should they be used?

Are you deficient?: Some folks have pancreatic lesions and cannot digest their food without supplemental enzymes. This is a common problem in kids with cystic fibrosis. For most folks, it's a complete waste of money -- like wearing glasses if you don't need them.

i gonna get the enzyme therapy for double chin with lipase, collagenase, hyaluronidase injections, my question is... is this treatment really effective? and also does it have any side effects? who cannot get this?

: A lot of the answer lies in who you are and what you and the double chin look like.  I would ask the folks who going to treat you what they expect to happen and give some estimates on what to expect in ladies like you.

hi there! i just had a pancreatic enzyme test done and the results are low on amylase and lipase (amylase 10 units, and lipase 3 units). i had an abdominal ct scan and ultrasound performed, but everything appeared normal. should i be concerned?

Why the tests?: Do you have any symptoms? Why were these tests done? Your symptoms, if you have any, are not due to pancreatitis but there could still be other pancreatic lesions.
It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. Wish you good health!

Not that I know of: No management showed promise in managing diabetic nephropathy besides control of diabetes, hypertension, cholest &meds i.e. Ace/arb. Avoiding concurrent insult to the kidneys is paramount. In laboratory rates a ketogenic diet actually showed great promise however it is not tolerated or recommended in human diabetics. It further stresses the benefit of strict carbohydrate and diabetes control, though.

: No amount of oral intake of the enzyme will have any effect on your health. The enzyme will get digested like any other protein.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

Scam: The vast majority of "enzyme pills" are bogus. This scam is especially popular in eastern europe. Enzyme replacement is very helpful for folks with pancreatic diseases such as chronic pancreatitis and cystic fibrosis. They're only placebos if you've got normal pancreatic function.

It depends: First, you need to learn why your liver enzymes are elevated..  This can come from many causes, including alcohol abuse, hepatitis, and even some food supplements. Your doctor can help you determine the cause of your elevated liver enzymes, and select treatments from there.  Whole foods (especially organic, non-pesticide containing vegetables & fruits, lean proteins, & healthy fats) are essential.
