can i get rid of the knot in my lip after a motorcycle accident with a face injury?

Accepted Answer

Yes: You can often get scar, hematomas or mucoceles (collection of minor salivary glands that herniate) after traumatic injury.  Often they will improve or resolve with tincture of time. If it has been present for over 6 months it will most likely not go away on its own and you may want to see your local otolaryngologist (ENT) or plastic surgeon for surgical options.

motorcycle accident & ctscan 3wks ago was wearing helmet plus lost consciousness hit head front & back still symptoms of concussion. is this normal?

Yes: The symptoms of concussion may last up to 6 months.  You may experience fatigue, difficulties with concentration, headaches, difficulties with sleep, dizziness.  Just try to "listen" to your body and get enough rest. If you feel you have to take a nap during the day - it is fine. Make sure that there is no other issues, f.E anemia, thyroid gland issues... Do not assign all to concussion.

Head trauma: If you have no signs of nausea, or sleepiness, or change in behavior or appetite - you need only to avoid further injuries.

The : The most common cause of a "yes-yes" head tremor in a person with a parent with a similar condition is essential tremor.  Like most movement disorders, essential tremor is worse with stress.  Other than an examination by someone who is familiar with the condition, there is no test to confirm the diagnosis.  Other conditions can cause head tremor, but are less common in young, healthy people.

See Dentist: It "might" be normal, if the "white" is at the loose/jagged edges of a cut, it could be the remodeling (/healing) process smoothing out surface. If any fevers / new or worsening pain, should see dentist or urgent care / your dr. Otherwise, can salt water gargle occasionally & give it a little more time w/observation.

: Your "external" head injury could well have caused a concussion or other internal injury that didn't show up on CT or other scan. See a doctor soon, ideally a neurologist. Good luck.

MC concussion: It takes at least 6 months to recover from the most minor head injury.  Give yourself some more time.  Avoid any recurrent head injury.

when i'm on my boyfriends motorcycle, it shakes my body and my head so much that my teeth rattle. could the constant shaking cause a brain aneurysm to form?

Doubtful: But it could cause traumatic injury such as concussion, or fractures to your teeth, or damage to the jaw joint.  You might want to consider having your Dentist fabricate a mouth guard to protect you from injury.

Sharp pain in chest: Rib fractures are very painful. They cause sharp pain in the chest wall that can be pinpointed easily (not vague pain). It tends to get worse with movement, like bending, twisting and even breathing. Sometimes you can feel them grinding when you move. Treatment includes pain management and deep breathing to clear any phlegm in the lungs.

Death or less: Any and every organ can be injured in a motorcycle accident. Head injuries and major extremity injury (sometimes requiring amputation) are not uncommon.We also see major liver &amp; spleen injuries, as well as aortic ruptures, broken necks/spinal cord. According to CDC, you are 37x more likely to be injured on an MC than in a car. We call them donorcycles.
