i was prescribed linzess for ibs and i also sometimes take glycerin suppositories... is that ok to take together?

Psyllium: Soluble fiber such as  ispaghula, calcium polycarbophil, or Psyllium, which is found in Metamucil, have been shown to reduce universal symptoms in IBS. Metamucil does contain other added ingredients, so it may be best to take psyllium in a more natural form. (available at a natural food store) Oats/oat bran may be effective for those with IBS-C. Psyllium does not interfere with Linzess.

will taking linzess for ibs long term cause electrolyte abnormalities? i have chronically low potassium but doc still prescribed it?

No it will not: There is no indication based on the studies and fda approval of this drug that it will cause electrolyte abnormality long run.

Not probiotics: Doubt probiotics is causing the GERD exacerbation. Check with the doctor who prescribed you the Linzess. I am not aware that it should cause GERD worsening either. Perhaps you have changed your eating habit recently too?

Not habit forming: Linzess is not habit forming. Ibs is a chronic condition so medication may be needed chronically.

Irritable bowel syndrome: Is because  signals that go from the brain to the bowel and from the bowel to the brain through the autonomic nervous system are in a state of chaos.  By far the commonest cause is poor diet, especially the sugar and sweet stuff.

IBS_C: If you have very little or no urge for bowel movements, try taking daily a gentle bowel stimulant containing a stool softener. SenokotS is such a product. Follow label instructions. Drink adequate fluids and include soluble fiber as tolerated. Avoid the laxative habit. A gastroenterologist may have other tips for you.

Sure: Constipation is troublesome and causes distress and anxiety for anyone who is constipated. Thus, it is reasonable to think that any way to resolve and prevent constipation will also relieve the distress and anxiety that comes with being constipated... as long as the treatment isn't causing distressful side effects.
