Delicate Cervix: During pregnancy, the cervix bleeds very easily and you have an increased discharge.  When the cervix bleeds a little, the discharge turns pink.  Its common and usually not serious.  If you begin cramping, notice more bleeding or starting having contractions, this might indicate something more serious and you need to go to the hospital for evaluation in the Labor and Delivery unit. Can be: Up to 25% of all pregnant women have some bleeding especially in the first trimester. While it could be a threatened miscarriage, if it's only light spotting, everything should be okay you should call your doctors office, and make an appointment. Drop in estrogen: After the LH surge (hormonal trigger for ovulation) there is a natural decrease in the estrogen level.  This can slightly destabilize the uterine lining leading to spotting.  It should resolve quickly.  If it recurs monthly then I would recommend you have an evaluation of your uterine cavity for polyps or fibroids.  Also consider a thin uterine lining especially if you are taking Clomid/Clomiphene

Old blood: Most likely this darker blood is older blood that has been left from your previous period(s) in your uterus, cervix and upper vagina that is just now deciding to come out and cause some brown/dark brown/black spotting. If it continues in large amounts I would advise you see your doctor to make sure everything's ok but otherwise t his isn't too unusual. Take care!
