Severe disease: Usually when an angio shows multiple blockages that are complex and in multiple vessels they will reccomend bypass. Others cases would be left main coronary art dz. Multiple vessels and low ef especially in a diabetic. Each patient is a unique case and with improved technology more pts are going for stents that would have been sent to bypass in the past.

Call his surgeon: You should let the dr. who is taking care of him know your concerns. A week for such seems a long time but it really depends on baseline function to a great extent.  He had a significant shock to his system , and the whole experience can be disorienting.  So one might still. have some trouble at a week Always call the dr to report any concerns,they know your husband and can judge the best.

Yes: Your cardiac surgeon and cardiologist need to know of your symptoms.
Probably just post surgical, but occasionally an issue.
 Ekg can be helpful, echo can be helpful.
Enzymes in blood have likely cleared- and not useful now.

It depends: His surgeon would be a better resource. Life expectancy depends on several things. How well does his heart squeeze?  Were all the blockages bypassed?  How healthy are the rest of his arteries?  Does he have lung disease, diabetes, other health issues?  Is he smoking?  Will he change his risk factors? Assuming no other issues and normal heart function then he should do very well.
