had physical with cbc 2 mos ago---all normal. having fatigue, ha for over 2 weeks. if leukemia, would have shown on cbc? sound like possible leukemia?

Probably not.: So many things can cause headache and fatigue - and most of them are far less serious than leukemia. If a person did have leukemia, their WBC count would probably be much higher than normal, but the diagnosis is confirmed with a bone marrow biopsy. I wonder if you struggle with anxiety about your health. I encourage my patients to ask themselves, "what are the facts?" to sift out truth from worry.

Yes it would: Leukemia is a cancer of the white blood cells, so the white blood counts are effected by leukemia, usually they increase but sometimes they can go down too. Also the hb and platelet counts are also affected by leukemia as it grows in the bone marrow and can compromise the production of all types of blood cells.. So a CBC is a good screening test for leukemia diagnosis.

No: The CBC only shows the total number of white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets.  In order to diagnose leukemia, one must look under the microscope at many characteristics of the blood cells.  Usually this requires a test called a bone marrow biopsy.

Possible: The leukemia was likely in process in february, but was not detectable in a cbc, and has advanced enough to be detectable now. The time of onset of tumors including leukemias is generally indeterminate, you can only pinpoint the time when the tumor/leukemia becomes detectable. The underlying process has usually been in play for years.

Likely not say more: Your weekly cbc tests seem unusual but along the way, ask the doc to make a blood smear and check your cells. That would be a good start to see if you need more specific tests, like a viral test since your lymphocytes count varIes and fatigue, may indicate infection, say mononucleosis,but  if the peripheral bood smear shows really bad cells, more than those seen in infections,See blood docs.ingat.

A CBC may: Give answers about red cells (size, volume HGB concentration) that no one wants to know, but the total hemoglobin and % (hematocrit), whilte cell count and platelet count could all be normal, or all be low with lmphoma affecting marrow.  Blood tests help only a little, and more to point to effects of treatment than diagnosis of lymphoma  as a condition.

No: A CBC alone is not sensitive enough to detect leukemia or lymphoma. A careful medical history and physical exam and a manual review of the peripheral blood and a bone marrow aspiration and biopsy are usually necessary when leukemia or lymphoma are under consideration. A CT scan is also usually ordered for evaluation for possible lymphoma.

No: That is a normal diurnal variation in temperature. And leukemia means that the white blood cells have gone wild and you have a normal cbc. No worries

Indeterminate: It is not feasible to say, for a normal person, how long it will take for the person to develop leukemia. Vast majority of the people never get one.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
