Depends: Leukemia like many illnesses has its early pre-diagnostic stage where it begins in the bone marrow but has not begun to send out any material to the bloodstream. By the time symptoms appear in a patient, it will usually be evident on blood count & review. However a random CBC & review done very early in the process would only find what was present in the blood. Bone marrow study is more accurate
