Knee ache: Tendonitis can be the problem. Treatment consists of avoiding stressing the knee and taking anti-inflammatory medication like Advil or Aleve for a week. If Lack of improvement, consult an orthopedic specialist for evaluation and advice. A knee xray or mri may be ordered as part of the evaluation to look for arthritis,patella pathology or internal knee derangement like cartilage or ligament damage.

It's helpful to have well fitting shoes, proper arch support, and exercise on a flat surface. If overweight, one should lose some weight... All of these ideas may help.

Souds like: Osgood-schlatter's disease, common in you age group.  You will need an accurate physical examination and maybe x rays, so see your doctor for better advice.

Rest, ice and:: Start with resting and icing it to cool things down, an acewrap to support it would be helpful. Gentle exercises would be helpful, within limits of discomfort initially, and gradually increase them as pain reduces.
Nsaids like Ibuprofen type medication would help. I am sure you'll be painfree in about 5-10 days time. If not see your doctor.

right calf tightness for 6 wks after running stairs for a couple weeks, but its still there. no pain on flexing, no history of clots, i am active, no travel or surgery, never taken bc, no swelling or red, goes away when resting. worried about dvt?

Patellar tendinitis: You appear to be describing a classic case of patellar tendinitis. A common overuse type injury tht is almost always amenable to nonoperative treatment. Static quadriceps stretching usually helps resolve this complaint. Nsaids such as motrin, naproxen, or advil (ibuprofen) can also help. If no improvement after several weeks arrange for an evaluation by your physician.

?infection: Leg swelling could be due to infection, allergy, poor circulation/congestive heart failure or lymphadema.  If you have leg swelling you  should see your doctor.
