A member asked:

I have been running for a couple of months now after running 20km on sunday i noticed some swelling on the outside of my left ankle with only slight pain. no restriction in movement. should i be worried? should i stop running for a while?

Doctor should check: Strengthening one's hips, knees, and ankles can make it easier to run without leg or ankle symptoms. It's best to see one's doctor, who may refer to a podiatrist or a physical therapist. One can also view ankle exercises online. It's helpful to have well fitting shoes, proper arch support, and exercise on a flat surface. If overweight, one should lose some weight... All of these ideas may help.
