Stomach or heart: Valvular heart disease, although possible, is less likely unless other symptoms appear. Seems most cardiac tests have been done to rule in heart problems. To evaluate for valve problems, one would check an echocardiogram (ultrasound of your heart). Are you compliant with your GERD medications? If so, speak with your gastroenterologist for alternative therapy or even titration of your current meds

Chest pain: Such positional chest discomfort along with a burning sensation, without cough or shortness of breath, may be from GERD but could also be from pressure on a nerve root by a disc or bone spur at the lower neck or upper spine vertebrae. Another possibility is left rib pathology. I would start with an evaluation by your physician who will order tests and referral to specialists if deemed advisable

Best to be positive and proactive about your own health. Give up tobacco, eat well, exercise and watch your weight. You might want doc to check for gerd and if worry persists, see a psychologist for help. Good luck.
