Accepted Answer

Not very: Led lights can be dazzling but are not laser.  They do not provide a concentrated, focal light but a more diffuse light which the eye can easily handle.  It is not comfortable to stare at an led light but not harmful.  This of course is not the case with laser light which carries the usual cautions.

Accepted Answer

No: Assuming a normal brain and motor system, you will move away from overly bright lights.  If you insist on staring into a bright light, it isn't by accident.

Accepted Answer

Not bad: Led lights are all over the place and becoming more commonplace.  Some lights at clubs are flashing and can be a problem for certain people with seizure disorders, but there is harm to the eyes unless you stare at them for a long time.

are class 1 led products dangerous? can they cause cataracts or damage your eyes?

Accepted Answer

Not dangerous: Class 1 led products are defined as being "safe under all conditions of normal use", and the vast majority of led's fall into this category. However, it is also recommended not stare at the led or shine the led into your eyes or those of another person. Class 1 led products should also not be used by children without adult supervision. Led's should have no risk of causing cataract.

is looking at led torch harmful for eyes? while using mosquito racket there's a led torch in it which sometimes comes in contact with my eyes from nearby distance. so does it harms my eyes?

: Not a good idea to look into bright light, but an LED light is not likely to harm your eyes.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

i took a video of my baby, not realising the led light of my phone was on, room was dark and i was aprox 1 metre away from his face the video was 20 secs long. will his eyes be permanently damaged? he is fixing and following and smiling appropriately

Follow up: Your pediatrician will continue to test vision and acuity screening usually is possible at age 3. Some offices have digital imaging which is reviewed by Opthalmology.
The baby’s vision most likely will be fine, please discuss with pediatric physician.

residue from construction materials went into my eyes while trying to change led lights on the ceiling, washed them with water, is that enough?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Irrigation is the BEST way of avoiding eye irritation/damage when foreign material enters including construction dust etc!

was using bright led light bulb a few inches from face to do online interviews. (1 hour at a time) as i'm doing it, i feel dizzy at times. it goes away when i turn light off. can these lights too close to the eyes/face cause this effect?

Probably : Exposure to too bright light, besides leading  to glare,  may cause  particular  damage to  the eye.  The  type and  extent of  damage depends  on the brightness (luminance) of the light source, its angular size (which partly depends on how far away it is), its spectrum and the duration of exposure.

shined samsung s21 ultra led flashlight in toddlers eyes 6 times in row at 1 inch away from eye ball and about a minute each time while she slept to check pupils but only saw edges of pupil. do you think i damaged her eyes with too much led light ?

Accepted Answer

: It is unlikely that you damaged the eyes. Is the child able to see as she did before. You could test the toddler's eye sight by talking to her about the things she is seeing. If you have any concern, it would be prudent to see an eye doctor.

i have hyperopia and a high power (10,both eyes).i have noticed that "blue" led lights appear to me moving if i turn my head to and fro.is it normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It can be.: High hyperopia can induce lenticular aberrations. I suggest you see an eye physician to make sure that your intra ocular pressure is normal . There is no anatomical crowding in your ocular structures . Need to provide your complete medication list to your eye physician.
