Specifically what heavy metal was detected and by what means? What were your symptoms and how was the connection made between your symptoms and the RCT procedure?

Temporary Dressing: Good day;
  Temporary endodontic  dressings are not taste sensitive. Most likely some of the temporary sealant  came out of the tooth and you are tasting chemicals used in root canal treatment. Contact DDS who is treating tooth and replace temporary filling with a non tasting inert material.

old crown was leaking & removed. this was a cavity under crown that was fixed. crown prep done.  lots of drilling. temp crown put on.  tooth really hurts.  root canal not indicated right now.  how long should tooth hurt after all this?

Varies: Varies from patient to patient, even tooth to tooth. If the pain is subsiding over a few days you should be fine. If the pain is the same and intensifying, then root canal therapy is indicated before the final restoration is placed. This happens when the carious lesion is deep... the nerve inside the tooth gets traumatized.

i had a root canal performed on tuesday and i assume the nasal membrane was pierced. my nose keeps leaking (literally pouring out) when lean forward or tilt my head. slight brown/bloody tinge. how do i stop it?

Post-root canal: If the RC Rx was done on an upper molar, it is possible (but not probable) that the sinus membrane was breached. If it was any other tooth, then anatomically this would be impossible. Surgery (including RC Rx) induces inflammation. Check in with the General Dentist or specialist Endodontist that did your Rx and report your symptoms. You may need to be reevaluated.

Testing: Not sure what testing you are referring to however if a root canal is leaking and xray may show a shadow at the root tip and the tooth may or may not be sensitive to biting or tapping
see your dentist or endodontist if you have any symptoms or suspect there may be an issue.

Cannot Be "Allergic": You cannot be allergic to a root canal.  You can be allergic to one, or some, of the medications used for the procedure.  If you have concerns, please speak with your dentist and tell them what you are allergic to, if unsure have an allergen test done for a complete panel of potential allergens.  The dentist will then inform you if any of your allergens are used in the root canal procedure.

Dental allergy rare: While reactions to dental anesthetic  chemicals and instruments occur not infrequently, reactions to filling materials once set are unusual. Nonetheless metal components of fillings or crowns can rarely cause allergy. Most often this results in local reactions at the contact site but mild systemic manifestations can be seen. You should be tested before taking any drastic actions such as removal.

: Symptoms can include intermittent or constant pain, mobility, pressure, occlusion problems, etc. Recommend that you see a specialist Endodontist for reevaluation.

Infection: Swelling/pain/fever are general signs of infection around the tooth or radiating to a adjacent area. Also a dental radiograph of the area would be very helpful to diagnose.

i got a root canal and a dental crown 8 months ago and today, when i was biting down on a piece of bread, i felt a severe and shocking pain in the area where i have the crown. what does the symptom indicate?

Does it still hurt?: If the pain only occurred that one time it was probably from something being jammed between the gum and tooth. A Root canal removes the nerve from the tooth so pressure , hot, or cold usually doesn't hurt. If there is continued pain with pressure on the tooth then there is probably still infection around the tooth's roots. An x-ray would help to determine this.
