conflicting answers, i read chicken skin is good for you it will help lower ldl's then i read it's saturated fat not to eat it. my ldl's high trying to lower them. i only eat vegetables and only meat is chicken. which is true? tyvm for the help?

: If you are trying to lower LDL then skin along with muscles is not good for you as between skin and muscles is the fat layer. Otherwise chiken skin is better than steak or pork. Does it help?

More info please: Depends on how high your LDL is. Also depends on your risk factors and your diet. LDL can be lowered by increasing your omega fatty acid, by increasing your exercise and possibly by decreasing your carbohydrate intake. If you have low risk factors then there wouldn't be much cause for concern.

Diet and genetics: Triglycerides are driven mostly by high intake of carbohydrates and lipids. Ldl levels are determined mostly by genetics. Treatment for elevated LDL and or triglycerides is not an appropriate item for this forum, please consult your doctor for determining your lipid profile and treatment which may include, diet, exercise and medications.

Bad idea: Coconut oil will not do you any good.

Niacin: Although LPa is an established risk factor for coro art disease it is unclear wether treating it leads to reduce cardiac events unlike lowering LDL.Niacin is the only known medicine to lower LPa It also lowers LDL and triglyceride. If you absolutely is intolerant to statins ,Niacin maybe an alternative,that is if you can take it which a few people can't

Ask ordering doctor: Question chopped off. It is better to have a high HDL and a low LDL. HDL is the good, and LDL is the bad cholesterol. Doctors want a patient's total cholesterol divided by HDL to be less than 3.0. A person needs to ask his primary care doctor to interpret lab results because a doctor needs to know the whole story behind the patient. In this case, a high good HDL may compensate for mildly high LDL.

Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
