Well hydrated : It sounds like high vascularity just meaning when you are well hydrated your veins expand out. Also some medications like vasodilators can cause this.

loss of fat: Subcutaneous fat naturally atrophies over time.  Think of the difference between the cheeks of a baby and a 90 year old man.  These make veins which are normally occurring in the hand more visible.  These can be removed, for cosmetic reasons, by a vein specialist or phlebologist.

Hand veins: Enlarged hand veins are very common and there are many reasons for them including genetics, response to temperature changes, aging with loss of muscle tone making the veins more prominent and even hormonal changes.  Large hand veins can easily be treated by an office procedure.  I use a combination of endovenous laser for the larger veins and sclerotherapy for the smaller veins.

Not sure about poppy: Liz, every person's hand veins become more prominent with age.  Normal veins feel "squishy".  They easily move away when you push them.  It's normal and not dangerous.  
Arthritis is also common with age and the most common cause of pain in hands.  However, if you have hurt your hand or burst a vein you could have bruise-like pain.  Apply warm compresses and it will probably get better.  Good luck

i have very bad look of veins in my hand.. i think the veins exposed to high pressure and now they look very big .how can i hide the veins in my hand?

Abnormal: See vascular surgeon and be sure no DVT or arteriovenous malformation giving the high pressure.
Thoracic outlet can occasionally be involved and some other less likely items.
Congestive heart, Pancoast tumor, breast problems and/or axillary nodes .
Really need some study!

Various: Red palms are seen in two-thirds of pregnancies during the first trimester and resolves postpartum. Palmar erythema is also seen in other conditions such as lupus erythematosus, liver damage or thyroid disease.

vein in arm is poking out n hurting. when i hold my hand down it gets big n burns what could that mean?

Possible phlebitis: You may be experiencing a condition called phlebitis - or an inflammation of a vein.  Phlebitis can be caused by a thrombus ( blood clot), trauma (needle insertion) or by medications infused into the vein. Some chronic connective tissue disorders, such as lupus, can cause as well.

my hands appear to have larger than normal swollen veins. slight discomfort. i just had an u/s that is leading me to think i'm having another mc.  are these related? is the hand issue an emergency?

I doubt if there is: Doubt if there is anything wrong here. Prominent veins are common especially in those who do hard physical work outs or engage in lifting weights.
I do not know what is mc. I would advise you not to use such abbreviations as they mean different things to different folks.

Get General check up: I will recommend a general check up with your PCP, he/she will conduct preliminary evaluation and point you in the right directions. Your symptoms are non-specific and may or may not be serious.

Easy bruisability is: A common complaint. If it is new or worse then evaluation and potential testing of platelet count and blood coagulation is appropriate.
