If it can be felt: In general, the doctor usually cannot feel the spleen in the left upper abdomen unless the patient is very thin.  If it can be felt in a normal size person, it is considered enlarged.  By ultrasound criteria, a measurement of over 12 cm is considered large, but even that isn't written in stone.

Doctor: You definitely need to consult your physician or a hematologist. Even though the signs you report are not highly specific, they are worrisome and may be associated with serious disease including infections but also leukemia. Please consult with your doctor immediately.

Many causes for it: Low Hemoglobin(Hb) commonly known as Anemia can be caused by many different reasons....enlarged spleen is present in some such conditions but it is uncommon, as most anemia is from blood loss or from deficiency of iron. You need a good doctor to investigate the cause and inform you about it so that you do not have to keep running to different doctors.

Several posibilities: My major worry would be that you have infective endocarditis, which could be life-threatening.  Very strongly suggest that you consult with an infectious diseases expert asap.  Please do not delay.  There are other things this could be, none of them very good to have.  Please go and get taken care of as soon as you can.

IGA deficiency: IGA deficiency means you need an immunologist, at least.  Large spleen and nodes can be a symptom of IGA issues.  However spleens can get large enough to cause platelet problems and bruising.  Additional exam and testing are needed.

is it possible for gallbladder disease to make my spleen large?

No: It is extremely unlikely for splenic enlargement to be related to gallbladder disease.  In very rare events, such as long term bile duct obstruction from gallbladder disease, it could happen.  Bile duct obstruction could cause liver damage which could cause portal hypertension which would cause splenic enlargement.  Once again, this would be extremely rare.

fell from a horse 2 wks ago & told had grade 3 spleen lac w/ lrg hematoma. surgery found to be a massive cyst and 3x larger then normal spleen. fall ruptured cyst. what causes these 2 conditions at the same time? no prior s/s or health issues.

Pre-existing cyst: Congenital abnormality which is prone to rupture when traumatized.
