Home remedies: You can gargle w aloe vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey ; a small amt of lemon juice helps. For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician ; get a strep throat test ; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for strep throat.

However, you must avoid any food that you have adverse reactions to.

Forget diet: Forget the concept of diet foods. You will be setting yourself up. As a bariatric surgeon who looks at people that are successful at losing weight and more importantly keeping it off, concentrate on changing your eating habits. Reduce the sweets but don't fully eliminate. Increase vegetables and less fast food. Don't forget to include exercise regimen, any kind including walking.

Read labels: The most important thing to do is reading labels carefully  If the reaction was severe, be sure that you have EpiPen (epinephrine) with you in case of accidental exposure.  Be sure that this is just a blood test or skin test reaction to buckwheat since tests alone cannot be relied on as a diagnosis.

Any fruits and veg: Eliminating unhealthy foods is a great idea. Try making an open face sandwich of toasted bread, half an avocado and some oil and vinegar. Eat a sliced apple with almond butter. Use apple slices instead of crackers to eat spreads. Try a black bean burger instead of a hamburger. Bake tofu with pesto spread on top.
