Physical therapy or rest is often prescribed to allow healing and recovery without surgery.

Depends: Returning to basketball after a knee scope depends on what was done. The surgeon may not want you bear weight on the knee for 3-6 weeks if certain procedures are done.  Since basketball inolves quite a bit of stress to the knee i would not let my patient return for a minimum of 3 weeks if a simple meniscectomy was performed; more if a meniscal repair, microfracture or other restorative procedure.

Depends: as long as you did not have any type of repair of your miniscus for example you should be ok as long as you do not have pain

Time for recovery: Recovery period following knee arthroscopy will vary from patient to patient and from procedure to procedure. A removal of loose body may have a relatively quick recovery whereas an arthroscopically assisted acl reconstruction will require 4-6 months. For a meniscal repair a much longer period of recovery than a meniscectomy.

Do not panic: If this is referencing your kneecap area, it is very common.  Use nsaids, like ibuprofen.  Rehab. Your knee.  Initially just concentrate on range of motion exercise, but then transition into thigh strengthening.  Avoid squatting, kneeling and crawling as much as possible.  Many still see benefit in trying glucosamine and chondroiton supplements.

Let me explain: Most likely you have what we call lateral release for knee cap problem, if that the case it take a little time, it is not check it out.

1 week: After your sutures are removed in a week or so postoperatively you can travel. Take an Aspirin a day and take frequent breaks to walk around to prevent deep vein thrombosis or a blood clot in your legs.
