Do not panic: If this is referencing your kneecap area, it is very common. Use nsaids, like ibuprofen. Rehab. Your knee. Initially just concentrate on range of motion exercise, but then transition into thigh strengthening. Avoid squatting, kneeling and crawling as much as possible. Many still see benefit in trying glucosamine and chondroiton supplements.

Knee arthroscopy: Grade 3/4 articular cartilage degeneration must be better defined. Is it global tricompartmental involvement or reserved to a specific compartment? For one compartment disease a course of gel (hyaluronic acid) injections can be very helpful. This coupled with pt and orthotics may be a great start.
