Punched kidney: As long as you have no blood in urine prob no worries.  The kidney is very well protected. If you have a very large black and blue spot AND blood in urine begin to measure BP now as can lead to high BP but very rare.  Discuss With your team. Take pictures of area for records.  You can look up “Page Kidney”.  Time will tell. Take usual pain meds that work for u if team OKS but no aspirin.  Discuss!

Yes: The aorta starts at  your heart, runs down your middle right between your kidneys and ends around your umbilicus (belly button).

How hard?: If really hard  you could get hematuria, renal fracture/ laceration. Depending on where you were hit in the back it might also fracture ribs or lacerate the spleen.

Possible...unlikely: The kidney is well protected by your ribcage and fatty tissue and usually injuries are caused by car accidents or falls from a significant height.  But any blunt trauma can cause injury to the kidney and if you are concerned see your physician.

If you have blood in urine or your pain keeps getting worse, instead of better you should see your doctor immediately.

i got punched in the kidney really hard  boxing at the boxing gym. it hurts really bad but i'm not peeing blood or anything.how to heal it?heatingpad?

No urinary blood: Then it's just a muscular bruise and should go away in 5-7 days
If you develop hematuria or severe pain seek immediate medical attention (ER)
Rest, warm pad and Motrin in the mean time

haven't had head trauma recently, but im 16 and have sensitive kidneys and have quick stabbing headaches, feel dizzy, and about once a month i feel i get punched in the face and loose vision. noises and light hurt i keep forgetting how to spell words?

Multiple complex : issues, require a comprehensive physicial exam, blloood and urine testing. Your symtoms are not really associated with any one specific illness; however, components of your issues may be stress or anxiety produced. Time to close your computer and make an appoinment with your primary care physician or get seen at your local urgent care center. You state that about once a month you get punched .

GYN eval: If these symptoms recur at time of menses - you really do need to have a gynecological assessment to determine the cause.

: See your doctor and uncover underlying cause as different conditions are treated accordingly Conservative physical therapy may be appropriate

Must rule out kidney: Have your primary md be sure you do have have a kidney problem.   Otherwise heat, rest, no lifting or rotation and make sure you recheck in with primary md.
