Unilateral throbbing headache, dizziness, dysesthesia, visual disturbances nausea, sensitivity to light or sound, paresthesias and even chest pain may be present during the episodes. It is manageable condition. See an orofacial pain or headache specialist for evaluation and professional management.

1. Tmj disorder
2. Sinusitis
3.Ear infection
i would recommend a md visit first to check ear and sinuses, then dentist if those are ok.
This is common as pain in the head can come from many sources and the actual cause can take a bit of diagnostic detective work.

See your dentist: Dentists specialize in treating facial issues.  See your dentist and have them evaluate you for bruxism, an abscessed tooth, trigeminal neuralgia, or TMJ.  Your symptoms could be a wide range of issues.  Your dentist should be able to help you figure out what is wrong or can point you in the direction of a specialist who can.  Best of luck :)

Yes, It's Possible: Problems within the tm joint can cause a huge variety of symptoms, which differ from person to person. Ear and jaw pain are very common. Facial tingling and numbness are less common, but still possible. Unfortunately, there's really no proven way for you to take care of this problem yourself. You need to see a dentist who's experienced with TMJ problems. Get help before your symptoms worsen!

Need evaluation: It is hard to say exactly what is going on.  Your jaw joint is next to the ear and you inability to open points to a problem here.  D
have you had trauma or been hit recently?  Does your jaw click or pop?  How long has this been going on?  These are some of the questions that need to be answered before a diagnosis can made and treatment recommended.  Find a dentist well trained in treating tmj.

Couple possibilities: One possibility is a fracture of the jaw bone.  It could occur a couple of different places and is only going to be evident on an x-ray.  Another possibility is a dislocation in the tmj.  You may need to see an oral surgeon for either of these problems.

TMD: If clenching causes pain in front of the ear, you may have temporo-mandibular disorder.  The pain may be coming from the jaw joint,  but more commonly from the muscles of mastication (muscles that close the jaw).  See your dentist for a specific diagnosis.

a year ago i noticed a lump infront of right ear with jaw pain has progressed over time now the right side of face doesnt look in proportion with left?

Lump: Any bleeding, or as in your case swelling and pain, deserves immediate investigation.  The fact that your problem is progressive is of concern.  Please see an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist and/or an Oral Surgeon immediately.
