A Few Things: With that history it could be many things...Most likely causes include... 1. Tmj disorder 2. Sinusitis 3.Ear infection i would recommend a md visit first to check ear and sinuses, then dentist if those are ok. This is common as pain in the head can come from many sources and the actual cause can take a bit of diagnostic detective work.

One other thought: I fully agree with the excellent answer and advice given to you by Dr. Pohlhaus. Please be aware that you could also have more than one problem at the same time. If it's been awhile since your last dental checkup, it might not be a bad idea to also see your dentist, even if the primary problem is of medical origin. Most md's are not that familiar with diagnosing TMJ issues.

A visit to your primary care physician is in order to see if you've developed an ear infection or mastoiditis or acute sinusitis. If the cause of your pain is still in question, then you can see an orofacial pain specialist.
