Inflammation: Your jaw pain is probably secondary to inflammation from the ear infection. It is not a side effect, but a result of the infection.

Yes, but: Yes, but - i have seen many young patients who go into the MDs office with your complaints. Doc looks in ear, sees nothing. He tells patient "ear infection", prescribes antibiotics. No improvement. If your jaw pain persists after treatment of your "ear infection" see a TMJ expert. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists
