IUD pregnancy: The answer is yes, it is possible (it is always possible for something to go wrong, but I have seen a number of such cases). With that said, the chances are very low--less than 1%.

i think my copper iud has moved or fell out. yesterday i could feel the plastic of the iud but couldnt feel the strings. today i couldnt feel anything. ?

: Did you feel plastic in the vaginal area? If it was coming out then it may fell out of the body when you just need to take care of contraception if you do not want pregnancy. If you felt near abdominal wall then it could come out of uterine wall to abdomen and you will need a doctor to take it out.uterine perforation is a rare complication and is unlikely. Hope it helps.

IUD/cryotherapy: Cryotherapy can cause scarring of the cervical canal, making the insertion of an IUD difficult.  Local anesthesia can reduce discomfort, but most clinicians can insert an IUD after dilation of the canal.

: IUD's placed after vaginal birth can be pushed into the cervical canal with the post-partum uterine contractions, and if one can feel the "plastic" stem, the IUD is not in the correct place to render contraception dependably.  While breast feeding, it is not unusual to suspend ovulation, but see your OB physician to remove the current IUD and insert a new one to be safer.

Possible: If you're pregnant with an iud in place it's recommended to remove it asap due to risks of miscarriage or septic abortion. Having an iud removed and then conceiving does not increase the miscarriage rate. I hope that helps.

Hormone vs no hormon: Hormone-iud such as Mirena (levonorgestrel) is designed to slowly/steadily release a tiny amount of hormone during the intended period--about 3 yrs. Non-hormone iud: paragard is made of copper and works by creating a sterile inflammation thus preventing implantation. This iud can be used for up to 10 yrs. If you are considering such, consult doc. what is the experience usually like when iuds are expelled? i don't understand how so many women don't even notice it.

Look in the toilet: Expulsion can be cramys or not. Some woman don't notice  it coming out with menstrual flow into the toilet.

Probably not...: ...at least not serious infections. When IUDs were new, they seemed to predispose to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID, fallopian tube infection). It turned out this was a problem for just one type, the Dalkon Shield, no longer on the market. IUDs today rarely cause serious infections. But to be safe, if a vaginal infection, STD, etc is present, insertion is delayed until cured.
