Doctor can examine: Skin pain can be from one of several possible causes. A doctor&#x27;s exam is needed (primary care doctor or dermatologist). A person with shingles can have burning pain of the skin where the rash breaks out. Sometimes nerve irritation (anywhere along the nerve from the spine to the skin surface) can cause pain sensations in the lower back, thigh, or elsewhere. An in-person or video exam is helpful.

You may have: ringworm,which is a fungus.Ringworm lesions are round,flakey(dry),that enlarge over time,spread,and can itch.The edges can be red and bumpy but the middle of the lesions look more normal( we call this "central clearing").Best to have your doc take a look.

Need more details: How long have they been present?  Is it getting worse or better?  Even with detailed information, it is difficult to provide an answer for a skin rash.   Best to check with your doctor if the rash has  been present for over 2 weeks.  May try 1% hydrocortisone cream for a week and see if this helps.

Sounds like a bruise: However, it could be a bug bite and some of these are serious.  Take a photo of it and post here or show your physician, perhaps you'll get a better opinion.  Meanwhile, cool compresses will help with itching and won't worsen the bruise.  Don't take any aspirin or NSAID such as Ibuprofen (your Advil) until this is resolved.

Dermatome: If the rash is on one side and involves your inner thigh and low back that would be consistent with  a shingles rash involving the L1 or L2 dermatome.

Go to see GP: You need to see your gp to get checked. Sounds like it could be enlargement of the lymph nodes on the groin that you described on your question. It could be caused by infection, inflammation, trauma etc from the adjacent area like  on the legs, genitalia area etc vs other things like autoimmune  etc. Go to see your gp for further eval.

Rash: If the rash developed after you switched detergents it could be allergy. If it was prior then will need a picture to start to evaluate.
